James A McComas was born about 1846 in Maryland.1 He appeared in the census in 1870 in Bemont Township, Pratt, Illinois, listed at age 26 as having no real estate and $2000 of personal property. He was living in the home of Niles De Coway who was also born in Maryland.2 In 1870 James A McComas was a teacher.2 He married Jennie E Black on 18 September 1873 in Tazewell County, Illinois.3,4 In 1880 James A McComas was a teacher.3 He and Jennie E Black appeared in the census in 1880 in Village of Manito, Mason, Effingham County, Illinois, and James was also listed as the census taker. Lovina Grace McComas and Perry R McComas were living in the household with their parents.3 In 1900 James A McComas was a County Judge.5 He and Jennie E Black appeared in the census in 1900 in Manito Township, Mason County, Illinois, listed as owning a home free of a mortgage. Lovina Grace McComas and Perry R McComas were living in the household with their parents.5 On 9 June 1904, James A McComas testified in court in the case of Jessie Gillett's protest of the will of John P. Gillett in Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois.6 He died in May 1918.1

Ruth Elizabeth Miller was also known as Ruth Elizabeth Mummert.1 She was born on 18 December 1907 in Glenville, York County, Pennsylvania.1 About 1927 Ruth Elizabeth Miller was a seamstress for several local sewing companies.1 About 1930 Ruth Elizabeth Miller was a greenhouse worker at Cremer Florist in Hanover, York County, Pensylvania.1 She married Charles David Mummert on 12 June 1937.1 About 1940 Ruth Elizabeth Miller was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregation in Glenville, York County, Pennsylvania, where she taught at the Never Weary Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the church's community club.1 She died on 12 October 1999 at Brethren Home in Cross Keys, Baltimore City, Maryland, after a lengthy illness at age 91.1 She was buried on 15 October 1999 at St. Paul's (Dubs) Church Cemetery in Manheim Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Funeral arrangement were handled by Geiple Funeral Home of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania.1
