     John Durbin was born circa 1680.1 On 3 November 1714 John Durbin purchased land consisting of 100 acres known as "Tower Hill" from Daniel and Margaret McTish/McTavish at Baltimore County, Maryland.2 He married Avarilla Scott, daughter of Daniel Scott and Jane Johnson, on 20 August 1715 at Baltimore County, Maryland.3,4 On 26 March 1720 John Durbin purchased land consisting of 102 acres known as "Eastland Hills" and a portion of "Sophia's Dairy" from John and Martha Hall at Baltimore County, Maryland.5 On 29 March 1720 John Durbin purchased land consisting of a 100 acres portion of "Hathaway's Hazard" except for a small plot at the beginning tree of tract, 10 perches x 25 perches, which was given to Charles Whitaker, from Samuel and Mary Brown at Baltimore County, Maryland.6 On 21 February 1722 John Durbin obtained a land patent for 100 acres known as "Betty's Lot" at Baltimore County, Maryland.7 On 1 June 1722 John Durbin conveyed land consisting of 48 acres known as "Durbin's Choice" to Samuel Hughes at Baltimore County, Maryland.8 On 20 July 1725 John Durbin purchased land consisting of 200 acres known as "Hathaway's Hazard" except for a small plot at the beginning tree of tract, 10 perches x 25 perches, which was given to Charles Whitaker, from Samuel and Mary Brown at Baltimore County, Maryland.9 On 7 December 1726 Samuel Hughes and Jane Scott conveyed land consisting of 48 acres known as "Durbin's Choice" or "Durbin's Chance", 200 acres known as "Hughes' Enlargement", and 200 acres known as "Hughes' Choice", in consideration of the 312 acres from Durbin to Hughes on same date to John Durbin at Baltimore County, Maryland.10 On 7 December 1726 John Durbin and Avarilla Scott conveyed land consisting of 112 acres known as "Eastland Hills", a portion of "Sophia's Dairy", and 200 acres known as "Hathaway's Hazard", except for a parcel of "Hathaway's Hazard" given by Samuel Brown (who later sold the land to John Durbin) to Charles Whitaker to Samuel Hughes at Baltimore County, Maryland.11 On 7 June 1732 John Durbin purchased land consisting of a 100 acre portion of "Triple or Treble Union", which was originally surveyed before Oct 1731 for Thomas White, Samuel Hughes, and John Durbin, received on this date from Thomas White at Baltimore County, Maryland.12 On 7 August 1734 John Durbin acknowledged sale of land consisting of 100 acres known as "Tower Hill" to Thomas Cottrell at Baltimore County, Maryland.13 He left a will on 22 September 1743 which mentioned tracts of land called "Imble's Union" (perhaps "Triple Union or Treble Union"), "Hughes' Choice", "Hughes' Enlargement", and "Betty's Lot". The heir(s) was/were William Durbin and John Durbin.14

     Samuel Durham was born circa 1704.1 He married Eleanor Smithson, daughter of Thomas Smithson and Ann Scott, on 15 January 1722/23.1 On 25 June 1723 Samuel Durham purchased land consisting of a 100 acre portion of "Edmond's Camp" from William and Gillian Wright at Baltimore County, Maryland.2 On 28 November 1744 Samuel Durham purchased land consisting of "Bilberry Hall" from John and Sarah Brice of Annapolis at Baltimore County, Maryland.3 On 28 November 1744 Samuel Durham purchased land consisting of 400 acres known as "Ewen's Contrivancel" from John and Sarah Brice of Annapolis at Baltimore County, Maryland.4 He owned a portion of "Edmund's Camp", "Bilberry Hall", "Durham's First Addition to D'o", "D'o Second Addition to D'o", "D'o Third Addition to D'o", a portion of "Edwin's Contrivance", and "Friend's Advice" circa 1754.5 He witnessed the will of James Preston, his wife's cousin, on 17 September 1766; James' estate as valued at 703.19.3 pounds, and consisting of the following property: PRESTON'S SEARCH, PLUM POINT, ROBINSON'S CHANCE, HOG NECK, DENNISES CHOICE (alias JAMES CHOICE), PRESTON'S CHANCE, ANDREW'S ADDITION, and SIMON'S NEIGHBOR.6 Samuel Durham was attended a convention of delegates from the 16 counties of Maryland as one of the 11 representatives from Harford County on 26 July 1775 at Annapolis, Maryland.7 He was signed the Association of Freemen for Gunpowder Neck (Gundpowder Lower Hundred) in 1775.8 He was solicitor of the Association of Freemen for Bush River Lower in 1776.8
