In 1870,Josepfa (?) and John Thomas Lessner appeared on the Federal Census of Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland, listed as owning no real estate and $100 in personal property. Their son Leonard was listed as living with them.⁷ In 1880,Josepfa (?) and John Thomas Lessner appeared on the Federal Census of Carroll County, Maryland. Their son Leonard was listed as living with them.² Josepfa (?) and John Thomas Lessner had 1 living children.⁶ Josepfa (?) died on 22 March 1908 at Millers, Carroll County, Maryland, at age 74; of lobular pneumonia; she was sick 3 days.^1,6 She was buried after 22 March 1908 at Lazarus Church Cemetery, Lineboro, Carroll County, Maryland.¹

Their children Lawrence, Pearl R, Russel G, Thomas Q, William M, Jacob H, Carroll and Bessie M were listed as living with them.³ Laura K (?) had 10 (8 still living) children.³ She died on 13 December 1948 at age 79.² She was buried after 13 December 1948 at Grave Run ME Church Cemetery, Baltimore County, Maryland.²
