(about 1718 - 1797)
Parents
Family: Spouse Hannah Deaver (27 May 1720 - between 1763 and 1766)
Biography
William McComas was born about 1718.1,2 On 10 December 1741, Ann Delap sold land known as "Come By Chance" (a 98 acre portion) in Baltimore County, Maryland, to William McComas. Also mentioned was Daniel McComas, Mary McComas, and Ann McComas.3 William McComas married Hannah Deaver on 27 July 1742 in Maryland.4,5,6,1,7,2 On 27 February 1746, William McComas and Hannah Deaver sold land known as "Come By Chance" (a 49 acre portion) and "Whitacre's Enlargement" (a 32 acre portion), which his father had purchased from Abraham Whitacre, in Baltimore County, Maryland, to Col. John Hall, Jacob Giles, and Isaac Webster, assignees of Col. Thomas White.3 On 19 May 1746, William McComas executed a land record regarding "Collin's First Shift", part of His Lordship's Reserve, in Baltimore County, Maryland, to purchase the lease of it for 50 pounds, from William Fow. Fow had received it from Robert Collinson on 5 Sept 1745, who in turn had leased it from Benjamin Fasker (agent for the Lord of Baltimore) on 16 Aug 1742 for 99 years with yearly rent of 10 shillings sterling.3,8 On 19 May 1746, William McComas and Hannah Deaver sold land known as "Come By Chance" (a 49 acre portion) and "Whitacre's Enlargement" (a 32 acre portion) in Baltimore County, Maryland, to Col. John Hall, Jacob Giles, and Isaac Webster, assignees of Col. Thomas White. This sale appears to be the same as the one executed on Feb. 27, 1746 so perhaps this is just a duplicate recording.3 He died in 1797.1
