John Gerberich was born on 7 February 1759.1 He registered for military service between 1777 and 1782 in the Lancaster County Militia, 6th Battalion, 4th Class under Captain Bradley (1777), and the 8th Company (1778-1779); then in the 9th Battalion, 3rd Class, 7th Company (1780-1781) and 4th Class (1782.)1 He married Catherine Latschaa in 1783.1 He died on 18 September 1843 at age 84.1
