William Bradford, Sr, was born about 1708 in Yorkshire, England.1,2 On 6 March 1722, Peter Whitaker and Frances Brown sold land known as "The Enlargement" (1/2 of the tract being 64 acres) in Baltimore County, Maryland, to William Bradford, Sr.3,4 On 2 June 1724, Abraham Whitaker sold land known as "The Enlargement" (32 acres) in Baltimore County, Maryland, to William Bradford, Sr, the schoolmaster.3 On 9 June 1726, John McComas and Ann Delap sold land known as "Come By Chance" (a 20 acre portion), originally purchased by Ann's first husband, William Love, in Baltimore County, Maryland, to William Bradford, Sr, in exchange for a 20 acre portion of "Enlargement."3 About 1730 William Bradford, Sr, was a schoolmaster.2 He migrated to Maryland from Yorkshire, England, about 1730.2 On 1 November 1738, William Bradford, Sr, purchased land known as "Division" (2 portions: 81 acres and 50 acres) which was part of "Turkey Hills" and "Strawberry Hills" in Baltimore County, Maryland, from Benjamin Jones.3 He married Elizabeth Lightbody about 1738.2 On 7 November 1739, Ann Delap sold land known as "Come By Chance" (a 1 acre portion) in Baltimore County, Maryland, to William Bradford, Sr.3 He was mentioned in the probate of the estate of John McComas on 24 June 1740.5 On 27 November 1740, William Bradford, Sr, purchased land known as "Division" (2 portions: 81 acres and 50 acres) which was part of "Turkey Hills" and "Strawberry Hills" in Baltimore County, Maryland, from Diana Jones of Baltimore County, who was directed to do so by Benjamin Jones' will (her husband.)3 About 1740, William Bradford, Sr, was registrar, clerk, and vestryman in St. John's Parish, Baltimore County, Maryland.2 On 1 October 1749, William Bradford, Sr, sold land to John George Bradford known as "Division" (2 portions: 81 acres and 50 acres), which was part of "Turkey Hills" and "Strawberry Hills", in Baltimore County, Maryland.3
