Johannes Kleinfelter was also known as Johann Klinefelter. He was born on 23 April 1737.1,2,3 He migrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from Rotterdam (via Plymouth), Netherlands, on 14 September 1751 with a contingent of Lutherans on the "Duke of Bedford", captained by Richard Jeffreys.4 He married Anna Margaetha Gerberich about 1758.1 He was a sponsor at the baptism of Johannes Klinefelter on 6 December 1767.5 Johannes Kleinfelter obtained a land warrent for 10 acres adjoining land of Martin Miller, Peter Gerberich, and Henry Fissel, to be held in trust for the Presbyterian & Lutheran Congregations by himself, Martin Miller, Andrew Smith and Peter Gerberich in Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania.6 He registered for military service about 1776 in the Army as a Private in Captain John Euman's Company.3 He was a sponsor at the baptism of Johan Michael Gerberich on 21 May 1789 at Fissel's (Jerusalem) Church in Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania.1,7 On 29 July 1807, Johannes Kleinfelter was listed as owing the estate of (Johann) Micheal Klinefelter 1,255 pounds, 10 shillings, and 6 pence due various years through 1817.8 He died on 1 October 1821 at age 84.2,3 He was buried after 1 October 1821 at Fissel's (Jerusalem) Church in Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania.2
