("Lizzie") Miller obtained a licence to marry on 21 June 1898 in Carroll County, Maryland.2,10,11 On 21 June 1898, Henry E. Lessner lived in near Lineboro, Carroll County, Maryland, prior to marriage.11,12,13 He married Elizabeth E. ("Lizzie") Miller on 3 July 1898 at the Lutheran parsonage in Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland. The wedding was performed by Rev Charles M Eyster.11,7,12,13 On 9 June 1900, Henry E. Lessner lived in Hampstead, Carroll County, Maryland, as a lodger in the home of Albert and Ada Belt.15 His social security number was 213-16-1734 in September 1939.9 He appeared in the census in 1940 in Hampstead, Carroll County, Maryland, listed as a widower, living as a lodger in the home of Albert and Ada Belt, as having only a 4th grade education, living in this same home in 1935, unemployed and unable to work but with another source of income.15 He died on 11 September 1948 at age 76.6 He was buried after 11 September 1948 at Lazarus Church Cemetery in Lineboro, Carroll County, Maryland.6

He was born before 1720 in Germany.2 He married Anna Maria Wagner on 23 October 1742 at Evangelisch in Reichelsheim Odenwald, Starkenburg, Hesse Darmstadt, Germany.2,3 He migrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from Rotterdam (via Cowes UK), Netherlands, on 19 September 1749 on the ship "Patience", captained by Hugh Stell.4,5 He obtained a land warrent for 22 1/2 acres of land from the Land Office of the Province of Maryland. On 10 March 1760, Philip Heir had land surveyed known as "Grape Spring" (22 1/2 acres) which was attested on 1 May 1760. After 1 May 1760, Philip Heir obtained a land patent known as "Grape Spring" (22 1/2 acres) which required a yearly payment of "eleven pence farthing sterling in silver or gold." In 1762 Philip Heir and Anna Maria Wagner were present for the baptism of Imanuel Preis, b. 22 Jun 1762 to Johann and Sophia Preis (nee Maerimann) at Reformed and Lutheran Congregations in Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland.6 In 1763 Philip Heir and Anna Maria Wagner were present for the baptism of Philip Dietz, b. 12 Feb 1763 to Michell and Maria Eva Dietz (nee Staelin) at Reformed and Lutheran Congregations in Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland.6 He made a will on 30 May 1772 in Baltimore County, Maryland. Christian Kelbaugh was a witness to the will. Philip Heir died in 1772 in Baltimore County, Maryland, without ever becoming a naturalized citizen.

Richard Harris was born on 18 July 1793 in Baltimore County, Maryland.2,3 He was baptised on 1 September 1793 at Zion Lutheran Church in Manchester, Carroll County, Maryland.4 He began military service on 19 August 1813 as a private in Captains Lamson and Adam Showers' Companies of the Maryland Military.5 He ended military service on 10 September 1813.5 He married Nancy Freeland about 1813.1 He began military service on 26 July 1814.5 He ended military service on 13 October 1814.5 He married Mary Freeland on 21 August 1845 in Hanover, York County, Pensylvania.6,5 In 1850 Richard Harris was a farmer.6 He and Mary Freeland appeared in the census in 1850 in District 8, Carroll County, Maryland, listed as owning $584 in real estate. Caleb Harris and Rebeca A Harris were living in the household with their parents.6 Between 1851 and 1855, Richard Harris lived in Carroll County, Maryland.5 On 20 July 1860 Richard Harris was a farmer.7 He and Mary Freeland appeared in the census on 20 July 1860 in Hampstead, Carroll County, Maryland, listed as owning $1,000 of real estate and $300 of personal property, and both able to read and write. He was born on 1 April 1769 in Alesia, Baltimore County, Maryland.2,3,4 He was baptised on 9 May 1769 at St. Jacob's (Stone) Union Church in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the father at the baptism of Catherina Hoffacker on 1 October 1797 at St. Jacob's (Stone) Union Church in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.2,5 He married Anna Maria Miller about 1797.1,5 He was the father at the baptism of Samuel Hoffacker, Sr, on 4 August 1799 at St. Jacob's (Stone) Union Church in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania.2,5 In 1801 Johannes Michael Hoffacker was a shoemaker.6 He was listed in the tax record of 1801 in Manheim Township, York County, Pennsylvania, as owning 50 acres, 1 horse, and 1 cow.6 He was listed in the tax record of 1814 in Manheim Township, York County, Pennsylvania, as owning 56 acres, 1 horse, and 1 cow.7 In 1821, John Hare sold land, his father-in-law, completely divesting himself of "Christopher's Luck" known as "Christopher's Luck" (219 acres) to Johannes Michael Hoffacker. He died on 4 October 1850 in Carroll County, Maryland, at age 81.3,4 He was buried on 6 October 1850 at Sherman's (St. David's) Cemetery in W. Manheim Township, York County, Pennsylvania.3,4 In 1850, Johannes Michael Hoffacker appeared on the census in 6th District, Carroll County, Maryland, in the household of Jacob Hoffacker and Mary Hare, his son.8
