Biography

He was born on 24 November 1832 in Bedford Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.3 On 31 October 1850, Michael Feather appeared on the census in Union Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, Philip Feather and Mary Ann Mock, listed as attending school.4 Michael Feather married Catherine Crist on 29 June 1854.1 He and Catherine Crist appeared in the census on 26 July 1860 in Clairville, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, listed as owning $300 of real estate and $100 of personal property. Ephriam Feather, William Franklin Feather, and Joseph Giles Feather were living in the household with their parents.5 On 26 July 1860 Michael Feather was a carpenter.5 He registered for military service on 2 November 1862. He enlisted as Corporal of Company I, 171st Infantry, PA (Union.)6 He ended military service on 8 August 1863 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.6 He registered for military service on 25 February 1865. He enlisted as Private in Company F of the 99th PA Infantry. The unit fought on 25 Mar 1865 at Petersburg VA and on 06 Apr 1865 at Sailor's Creek, Va. Sarah Hare was also known as Sarah Haer. She was also known as Sarah Hair. She was also known as Sarah Heer. She was also known as Sarah Herr. She was also known as Sarah Hehr. She was also known as Sarah Nace. She was born about 1839 in Maryland.1 In 1840, Sarah Hare appeared on the census in Baltimore County, Maryland, in the household of her parents, Jacob B. Hare and Elizabeth Feather. On 19 October 1850, Sarah Hare appeared on the census in 11th Ward (now Waverly section), Baltimore City, Maryland, in the household of her parents, Jacob B. Hare and Elizabeth Feather.1 On 24 February 1882, Sarah Hare was named as an heir in the will of Jacob B. Hare, her father, named as Sarah NACE, to receive $10.
