Moses McComas was born on 15 May 1732 in Baltimore County, Maryland.1,2,3,4 On 21 September 1747, Moses McComas was named as an heir in the will of William McComas, his father, to receive 50 acres of GRESHAM'S COLLEGE. The other heirs were Daniel McComas, Solomon McComas, Aaron McComas, William McComas, John McComas, Elizabeth McComas, Hannah McComas, and Eleanor McComas.2,5 On 7 April 1757, Moses McComas witnessed the will of William McComas, his brother.5 On 19 July 1760, Moses McComas was mentioned when Solomon McComas and Ann sold land to Daniel McComas known as "Gresham's College" (50 acres) in Baltimore County, Maryland. The land was inherited from Solomon's father, William MacComas. It was sold for 25 pounds of current money. The land borders portions of the same tract owned by Moses MacComas and another portion already owned by Daniel MacComas, as well as Winter's Run.6 Moses McComas married Elizabeth McComas before 1766 in Baltimore County, Maryland.3,4 He registered for military service on 9 September 1775 as a private in Captain Taylor's Co. No. 7.7,8 In 1776 Moses McComas signed the Association of Freemen for Gunpowder Upper before Captain Samuel Caldwell.9,7 He was listed in the tax record of 24 February 1778 in Gunpowder Upper Hundred, Harford County, Maryland.9 He and Elizabeth McComas appeared in the census in 1790 in Harford County, Maryland, listed as having in the household 1 unknown free male 16 or older, 1 unknown free female, possibly daughter Martha, and 5 slaves. Daniel McComas and Josiah Scott McComas were living in the household with their parents.10 Moses McComas died on 24 March 1794 in Harford County, Maryland, at age 61.1,11,3,4

The other heirs were Daniel McComas, Solomon McComas, Moses McComas, William McComas, John McComas, Elizabeth McComas, Hannah McComas, and Eleanor McComas.2,5 On 7 April 1757, Aaron McComas witnessed the will of William McComas, his brother.5 On 16 June 1765, Aaron McComas witnessed the will of Daniel McComas.6,5 In 1775 Aaron McComas signed the Association of Freemen for Gunpowder Neck (Gundpowder Lower Hundred.)6 He and Margaret McClure obtained a licence to marry on 7 July 1784 in Harford County, Maryland.7 He married Margaret McClure on 7 July 1784 in Harford County, Maryland.8,9,3 He died in 1805 in Harford County, Maryland, at age ~71.3,4

John McComas was born on 15 September 1736 in Baltimore County, Maryland.2,1,3,4 On 21 September 1747, John McComas was named as an heir in the will of William McComas, his father, to receive half of the dwelling plantation along with part of LITTLETON. The other heirs were Daniel McComas, Solomon McComas, Moses McComas, Aaron McComas, William McComas, Elizabeth McComas, Hannah McComas, and Eleanor McComas.2,5 On 13 May 1760, John McComas purchased land known as "Ann's Dowry" (a 100 acre portion) in Baltimore County, Maryland, from John Watkins Junior, and his wife Hester, of Anne Arundel County, for 50 pounds current money of Maryland. The land was located on Bnam's run near the head of the Bush River, near land owned by Thomas Thurston. John Watkins inherited the land as heir of Elizabeth Carpenter, widow of Capt John Carpenter of Annapolis. The same day, his brother Solomon, purchased an adjoining portion of the same tract.6 He married Salina about 1761.2,4 On 16 June 1765, John McComas witnessed the will of Daniel McComas.7,5 John McComas began military service on 30 September 1775 in Captain William Bradford's Company of the Harford County, Maryland Militia.8,9 In 1776, John McComas and Salina lived in Bush River Lower Hundred, Harford County, Maryland.2 He was listed in the tax record of 24 February 1778 in Gunpowder Upper Hundred, Harford County, Maryland.7 In 1778 John McComas was a signer of the Oath of Allegiance to Maryland.9 In 1780 John McComas served as a Harford County Grand Juror.9 He died in January 1826 in Bush River Lower Hundred, Harford County, Maryland, at age 89.3,4
